[ARCHIVED] Helping our neighbors after the storm

Our police officers and firefighters responded to Garland, Glenn Heights, Oak Leaf, Ovilla and Red Oak to help search damaged structures for the injured and trapped residents. They also provided transportation, helped manage traffic on roadways strewn with downed trees and power lines and provided other public safety services.
Cedar Hill was mostly missed by severe weather and we were able to help our neighbors as they would help us if we were in need. City Manager, Greg Porter has been in touch with the city managers of affected areas and offered support as they recover.
Faith-based and non-profit organizations in our community are already helping families with shelter as they wait for power to be restored to their homes.
We encourage everyone to open their hearts to those who have been affected and find ways to help.
