Did you know that every 33 seconds, one child under the age of 13 is involved in a crash. Many times deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children 1-12 years old. Car seats can make a huge difference in the safety and life of a child. Yet they’re often not used correctly or, worse still, not used at all.
During Child Passenger Safety Week the Cedar Hill Police Department will offer car seat checks and education on properly installing car seats. We will also be giving away free car seats for those in need. These services are available by appointment only.
