Recycling will be more accessible to the community this summer while they enjoy Crawford Park, Virginia Weaver Park and the numerous outdoor special events held in other areas of Cedar Hill. Dr. Pepper Snapple Group in partnership with national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful has awarded a grant of 30 recycling bins to the City of Cedar Hill. Representatives from Keep America Beautiful and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group will be on hand for a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the grant during the city’s Big Machines Expo, on Thursday, June 8th, at 10:30 am, at the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center.

As one of only 41 communities nationwide and one of three in Texas to receive the grant valued at over $17,000, the City of Cedar Hill will use the 30 bins to continue its “Growing Green” initiative to preserve our environment. The usage of the bins will be tracked for two years to determine the effects of the recycling bins on reducing litter.
