[ARCHIVED] Notice of 2019 Proposed Property Tax Rate

The City Council will take its first action next week on the proposed Fiscal Year 2019-2020 budget, which includes a recommendation to maintain the current property tax rate of $0.697028 for the eighth year in a row. View the notice of the 2019 proposed property tax rate.

The budget advances the City Council's vision of a premier city that retains its distinctive character, where families and businesses flourish in a safe and clean environment. Proposals address the top priorities of the community including: investing in public safety, continuing to aggressively implement the bond program approved by voters in 2017, and enhancing neighborhood integrity and engagement.

Highlights from the proposed budget include:

  • 65% of expenditures dedicated to public safety services
  • an additional code enforcement officer and customer service support for code complaints
  • ambulance and other public safety equipment
  • support for neighborhood engagement programs and events
  • traffic safety and speed monitoring equipment for neighborhoods

The City Council will vote on the budget in September after a series of public meetings. Please join us to provide your input at upcoming public hearings:
