[ARCHIVED] Watering Restrictions Begin May 1

Conserving and protecting water resources has become a major issue throughout Texas and much of the U.S. Local reservoirs are below normal levels and the population of the metroplex continues to grow.
The City of Cedar Hill depends on Dallas Water Utilities for our city water supply. DWU has requested all client cities to develop water conservation plans including contingencies for more severe levels of drought.
Watering restrictions contained in City of Cedar Hill Ordinance 2008-370 request no outdoor watering from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between May 1 and September 30.
Should the City declare a State II status, violators may be fined. A first offense can be up to $200 and fines for repeated offenses can reach $2,000 per day of violation.
Specific questions can be directed to Josh McLerran, City of Cedar Hill Environmental Projects Coordinator at 972.291.5126 ext. 2818. The Public Works Department has collected several pages of information available at the following link.
