[ARCHIVED] Recycle your Christmas tree

The City will provide two locations to recycle ONLY Christmas trees from January 1 - 5. Recycle your tree at dumpsters located in Crawford Park at 401 Straus Road or at the Cedar Hill Recreation Center at 310 E. Parkerville Rd.

The City of Cedar Hill recently received its second annual designation as a Tree City USA City recognizing the City’s efforts to encourage tree care and preservation. Please participate by disposing of your Christmas tree at a City-sponsored recycling center.

Please ensure that nothing other than the tree is put into the dumpster or the entire load will be contaminated and not recyclable. No tinsel, lights, ornaments or other items may be included on the tree.

Alternatives to dispose of your tree

You may set your tree out with your regular trash as a weekly bulky item. However, the tree will not be recycled.

Or, you may place your tree with the brush at the curb to be collected at your regular monthly brush pickup. The tree will not be recycled. Visit to see the week of your scheduled monthly brush pickup

Thanks for your help supporting Cedar Hill as a Tree City USA City.
