[ARCHIVED] Firefighters "Filling the Boot" for MDA Nov. 11-13

Friday through Sunday (November 11th – 13th) the Cedar Hill fire fighters will participate in MDA’s Fill-the-Boot Campaign. Fire fighters will be at various intersections off of Hwy. 67 asking local residents to drop cash into their boots to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
All three shifts will have firefighters on the street with boots.

What Your Fill The Boot dollars will buy:
$30 pays for a flu shot
$74 pays for one minute of research
$100 pays for one support group session
$150 pays for one occupational, physical, respiratory or speech therapy consultation
$300 pays for professional fees related to initial diagnostic work-up at an MDA clinic
$500 pays for annual repairs of durable medical equipment
$800 pays for a week at MDA summer camp for one child
• 76% of every dollar MDA spends goes directly towards MDA services
• The Association is the world’s leader in research and services for neuromuscular diseases.
• MDA funds more than 330 research projects by leading scientist around the
world.
