[ARCHIVED] Drought forces water conservation action

Drought lake

As of Dec. 12, residents and businesses with EVEN-numbered addresses are requested to water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Residents and businesses with ODD-numbered addresses are requested to water only on Mondays and Thursdays.
Note that Cedar Hill's restrictions are voluntary, while some other communities are implementing mandatory cutbacks.
City departments are looking at ways to achieve reductions in their water consumption.
Dallas Water Utilities (DWU), the source of Cedar Hill's water, has requested that our City set a goal of reducing water consumption by 5%.
The request to voluntarily reduce consumption and limit landscape watering is a result of the ongoing drought, which is predicted to extend beyond this winter, and water treatment plant repairs/construction by DWU.
If the City's consumption is not substantially reduced, other options will be considered.
