Tuition for the program is $695 for candidates who are individual members or whose companies are members of one of the five sponsoring chambers of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Lancaster, or Oak Cliff. For non-members, the tuition is $795
The 2012-2013 class year begins in September of 2012 and ends in May of 2013. Class sessions are held the third Wednesday of the nine-month program. Each session, which will begin at 8:00 a.m., will cover an entire business day. The 2012-2013 class year will involve a trip to Austin for Government Day.
Interested candidates can mail their application along with two letters of recommendation and a $25 application fee to Leadership Southwest; 4041 W. Wheatland Road, Suite 156-340; Dallas, TX 75237. The deadline date for receipt of all applications, app fees, and letters of recommendation is July 20, 2012. Acceptance notice will go out in early August following review by the Selection Committee.
Created in 1985, Leadership Southwest is a nine-month leadership development program dedicated to providing southern Dallas County with an ongoing source of diverse leaders who are committed to serve as catalysts and sustainers of positive change in their respective communities. Class participants receive exposure to critical issues facing our communities through guest speakers, discussion groups, and on-site visits.
