[ARCHIVED] ELF program brightens holidays

ELF volunteer

ELF & Friends is a non-profit organization operated by the Cedar Hill Fire & Police Associations. Last year they helped provide Christmas for about 250 children and senior citizens in our community. This year they hope to reach 300 residents.
ELF Trees, with tags of hoped-for gifts, are located at Wal*Mart, Fire Station #211 (1212 W. Belt Line Rd.), Police Department (285 Uptown Blvd. #200) and Zula B. Wylie Library (225 Cedar St). Please take a tag and fill a wish.
The number of seniors is about the same, but this year they have a couple of disabled adults to help. Some of the things people might think about for seniors are gift cards from grocery stores or restaurants. There are a couple of ladies asking for yarn for knitting /crocheting.
Donations and fulfilled ELF card gifts must be turned in at the main Fire Station on Belt Line or at Police offices in the Cedar Hill Government Center, north end, by Dec. 7.
