The Finance Department is responsible for the preparation of the annual budget based on the budget and finance best practice guidelines of the The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
The budget is a financial tool for both external users and internal management. It is used to monitor the expenditure of public funds and to ensure that the financial transactions of the City are conducted in accordance with statutory and contractual requirements and City policy.
