Emergency Housing Assistance Program


Have you been impacted by COVID-19 and have not been able to pay your household bills?

Cedar Hill residents who are negatively economically affected (loss/reduction of income) by the Coronavirus pandemic may qualify for financial assistance through Dallas County's Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). This program will continue to provide financial assistance for rent/mortgage, electricity, gas, and water bills. Maximum assistance through this program is $1,500 per month for up to six months. Residents must have a household income that does not exceed 80% of the area median income. Residents who previously received housing assistance through Dallas County EHAP, may re-apply for assistance through this program for up to the six month maximum time period.

Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) is accepting pre-applications in English and Spanish online and via phone at 214.819.1968, Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 4 PM.

Eligibility Requirements

Below are the eligibility requirements for this program:
  • Applicant cannot currently be receiving assistance through another entity.
  • Applicant must reside in Dallas County, but outside of the City of Dallas (verified by zip code).
  • Applicant must have suffered an economic impact on or after April 1st. Economic impact is defined as "job loss" or "reduction in income" resulting in non-payment of rental or mortgage payment.
  • Applicant household income must fall within the Area Median Income (see below chart).
